TATRA PHOENIX 8×8 EXPEDITION

The Tatra Phoenix is a purpose built, off-road Expedition monster, capable of tackling the toughest terrains. It boasts a powerful, efficient, and yet environmentally friendly PACCAR MX engine, Allison Transmission and a comfortable and modern DAF cabin, which is perfect for those longer trips.

The driving force behind this 8×8 is the use of central load-carrying tubes and axles with independently suspended swinging half axles bolted together into a single unit.

The half axles move freely, which enables the rest of the truck to remain stable, and take on the toughest terrain without losing traction, while still maintaining a constant speed.

This also ensures maximum cabin comfort with minimal movement felt, allowing the driver to enjoy working behind the wheel.

Although the list of functions and safety features is too long to mention, you can be rest assured that the collaboration between the Tatra Phoenix and SLRV Expedition Vehicles is going to be very impressive.

Having recently moved from Underbody/Frame, to the Body Shop, the Tatra PHOENIX build is progressing nicely through its manufacturing process.

With the composite panels now installed for the main living quarters, the interior fit-out process will begin, seeing all the internal electrical and plumbing fitted, followed by Cabinetry, appliances and finishing’s.

Whilst there’s still quite a bit of work to do, the Tatra Phoenix is well on track for its completion date.
